New Zealand batsman Jesse Ryder is in an induced coma at hospital 

Early yesterday morning the Kiwi cricketer was attacked twice in quick succession, suffering serious head injuries in the second part of what one witness called a "Jesse hate fight".

New Zealand Police said Ryder, 28, had been rushed to Christchurch Hospital after suffering the injuries early on Thursday morning and remained there in a critical condition. Holmes said Ryder, who had played cricket for Wellington against Canterbury in Christchurch yesterday, was leaving the Merivale bar about 12.30am with 10 to 12 of his teammates.

  

 After a few minutes he said the "body language changed" between the two. Ryder walked out of the bar and the man followed him, seemingly yelling after him.They were kicking him very hard. As hard as they could. It was pretty horrific."

A group of people from inside the bar went to Ryder's aid and pulled the attackers off him.

Prime Minister John Key, in Christchurch for other matters, said the attack was a "very serious situation".

Important message from Delhi police to all over Indian peoples.For the next few weeks don't drink any product of Frooti, as a worker from the company has added his blood contaminated with HIV (AIDS). It was shown yesterday on NDTV. The story also claims that this public warning was shown on NDTV. However, all this is complete hoax.

Firstly, Delhi police didn't issue any such warning, and neither did NDTV show this message. HIV can NOT spread through food contamination. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) clearly states that a person would not become infected with HIV even if he consumed food containing HIV infected blood. One thing you should know that there are lots of similar type of messages claiming that the Drink(like Pepsi,Coca Cola and others) are infected by some type of Viruses,But none of them have any prove regarding the claim.

"HIV does not live long outside the body.Even if small amounts of HIV-infected blood or semen was consumed, exposure to the air, heat from cooking, and stomach acid would destroy the virus. Therefore, there is no risk of contracting HIV from eating food."

Therefore, it is quite clear that this message of Frooti containing HIV is yet another hoax to scare people in the name of health.This is in fact another version of an old hoax talking about HIV in PEPSI.

India Votes Against Sri Lanka at the United Nations  

Geneva/ New Delhi: 

  India has voted for the resolution against Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva. 25 countries have voted for the US-backed resolution that addresses alleged war crimes by Lankan forces during the country's civil war with the Tamil Tigers. India has called for an "independent and credible investigation into allegations of human rights violations and loss of civilian lives." It did not, however, move any amendments. 

While 13 countries, including Pakistan, voted against, eight member-states abstained from voting on the contentious resolution that saw political tremors in India with DMK pulling out of the UPA alliance and the government. Gabon, a member-country had voting rights issue.

During Sri Lanka's bloody civil war, which lasted from 1983 to 2009, the Tamil Tiger rebels made suicide bombings their hallmark.

The UN Human Rights Council resolution underlined that states "must ensure that any measure taken to combat terrorism complies with their obligations under international law, in particular international human rights law, international refugee law and international humanitarian law."

It also welcomed Sri Lanka's efforts to rebuild war-damaged infrastructure, clear landmines from the former conflict zone and resettle the majority of people who were displaced during the civil war.

But it noted that "considerable work lies ahead in the areas of justice, reconciliation and the resumption of livelihoods", and that all groups, including minorities, should be able to participate fully. 

 External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid was quick to play down India’s vote against Sri Lanka, and reiterated India’s concern to maintain a strong relationship with Sri Lanka.

“We have a relationship with Sri Lanka and therefore, we have to use that relationship to arrive at an acceptable level of delivery. That is what bilaterally we will continue to do,” he said.

Although the resolution at the UN Human Rights Council is non-binding, it has already threatened ties between India and Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka has now decided to “repossess” part of a strategic oil storage depot from India’s public sector Indian Oil Company, almost immediately after the UNHRC vote.

The move follows India’s decision to support the US-sponsored resolution against Sri Lanka at the UNHRC, calling for an inquiry into alleged civilian killings during the military campaign to eliminate LTTE, the ruthless terrorist organisation led by 

V Prabhakaran.

DMK, AIADMK slam Centre for stand on Lankan Tamils issue at UN

 

"India has also diluted the original resolution moved by the US. This does not meet the aspirations of Tamils in Sri Lanka, the people of Tamil Nadu as well as DMK," Siva said.

In the Rajya Sabha, AIADMK, DMK and CPI members expressed their displeasure over India's intervention during a vote on a US-sponsored resolution at the UNHRC session in Geneva.

"We are not happy. Government of India has let us down," V Maitreyan (AIADMK) said.

D Raja (CPI) said the "government has let us down terribly. India has made oral submissions and we were kept in the dark about this. We strongly protest this."

As soon the Rajya Sabha disposed of the legislative business, AIADMK and DMK members moved into the Well with placards shouting slogans "Betrayal of Tamils by UPA."

As slogan-shouting continued despite appeals, Chairman Hamid Ansari adjourned the House till Friday.

5 Points guides on the resolution

1. The resolution is sponsored by the US and aims at "promoting reconciliation and accountability in
   Sri Lanka" following the country's decades-long armed conflict against the LTTE that ended in 2009.
   
2. India is likely to vote in favour of the resolution and therefore against Sri Lanka. The US, as the main sponsor of the resolution, will have to accept the amendments in consultation with other co-sponsors.
   
3. In 2012, a US-sponsored resolution saw 24 countries out of the 47 member countries voting against Sri Lanka. Fifteen countries voted against the resolution and 8 abstained. Sri Lanka itself is not a voting member but has observer status at the Human Rights Council. It asked for a vote, which was given to Cuba (which means the vote was cast in favour of Sri Lanka).
   
4. India had then asked for a key amendment that led to the addition of these words: "in consultation with and with the concurrence of the Government of Sri Lanka". This ruled out any coercive action from international monitors on Sri Lanka and helped preserve the island country's sovereignty. This line is missing from the draft of this year's resolution.
   
5. Sri Lanka does not recognise the resolution passed in 2012. Ambassador Ravinatha Aryasingha, the Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the UN in Geneva said Sri Lanka "rejects entirely the premise on which this resolution is based and as has been its consistent position, does not intend negotiating with the US on the text"

 Raghuvaran (December 11, 1958 – March 19, 2008) was an Indian actor who predominantly acted in movies made in South Indian languages.He was a famous for his portrayal of villain roles and character roles in Tamil movies. He has acted in more than 150 movies in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi films.Raghuvaran have a special style and voice modulation.He dropped out of his Bachelor of Arts from Coimbatore (Govt. Arts College) to pursue a career in acting.

 He bagged several state and Filmfare Awards for his outstanding performances in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu film industries. His role as a father of an Autistic child in Mani Ratnam's Anjali brought him critical acclaim. Another one of his most admired roles came in the movie Basha, in which he played the role of an of an underground don, Marc Antony who opposes Rajnikanth.He was married to the Tamil actress Rohini and has a son with her, Sai Rishivaran. The couple later separated and divorced.

 Raghuvaran died on March 19th,2008 in Chennai due what is stated to be a cardiac arrest. It is also stated that he had a history of liver disease due to excessive use liquor over a very long period of time. He died in sleep. A irony is few days before his death he acted in a similar scene in now released movie Yaaradi Nee Mohini staring dhanush& Nayantara in which he is shown dying in sleep.  Goundamani is an Indian film actor and comedian performing in the films of Tamil language who Turns 73 Years Old Today.He also paired with toppest actors like Rajinikanth, Kamalhassan, Vijayakanth, Sathyaraj, Jayaram, Karthik, Arjun, Prabhu, Sarath Kumar ,Ramarajan Ajith , Vijay etc in many films. He has paired with another popular comedian Senthil in many films. He started his actingcareer in 1977 and his career spans over 35 years.He started his career as a theatre artist and from there he entered the film industry. 

 Though his original name was Subramani, he was commonly called Mani and his role in the drama Or Gounder stuck to his name and came to be called Goundamani. His first film in Tamil was Annakkili released in 1976. He and Senthil are noted asthe Laurel and Hardy of Tamil film industry. His vazhaipazham comedy in the film Karagattakaran was very famous among people.

 

His punch dialogue Arasiyalla Idhellaam Sagajamappa became very popular in those times. He was casted in Hero role in the film Raja Enga Raja and Piranthen Valarnthen. He has also played the lead role in morethan 10 films. His role in the film 16 Vayathinile with Rajinikanth got many positive reviews. He has acted in some double hero subject films as one of the heroes like Ullathai Allitha and Unakkaaga Ellaam Unakkaaga.
 

He was in his peak times during 1990s and was one of the busiest actors of those days. Many of his comedy tracks were written by the writer A.Veerappan. After the death of the writer in 2005, no one else could makeup that excellence in dialogues for him and he started losing importance.

Goundamani has acted in nearly 500 films over 35 years.
